The Learning Consultant is responsible for designing and developing learning experiences across several client groups. These experiences should be derived from opportunities to learn in the formal, informal and experiential setting, all with the goal of driving impact and performance within the business client group. The primary focus of the role is to support learning partners within the Commercial Learning & Development (CL&D) team in the development of learning solutions. This individual will have a unique and challenging opportunity to work in an organization that serves multiple business segments and leadership cohorts within AmerisourceBergen. The consultant's effectiveness will hinge upon their ability to identify appropriate learning solutions (Micro & Macro learning), to select impactful delivery methods, while also creating high quality materials. Rapid design is of critical value within the role.
The Learning Consultant must exhibit the ability to partner effectively, and persuasively communicate ideas and tactical execution plans to Learning Partners and leadership. The ability to productively and consistently align, seek feedback and collaborate with Learning Partners is a critical success factor. This associate must be flexible and willing to execute at any stage of the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) process, inclusive of the ability to deliver training.
Partner with key L&D staff to understand the needs of the learner via performance consulting and needs analysis
Choose effective learning strategies based on those needs and within modern learning modalities (70:20:10) to create learning journeys/experiences
Clearly communicate those strategies to key stakeholders within L&D explaining how the chosen strategy increases performance and ties back to the business goals related to that project
Use various internal platforms to develop learning journeys that support the overall experience needing to be achieved such as live and virtual instructor led, eLearning, web-based, podcasts, video, roleplay, gamification, job aids, infographics and toolkits
Apply rapid design methodologies when appropriate
Determine and create pull through strategies that reinforce what was learned in a timely manner
Determine and execute Kirkpatrick's level 1-4 measurement strategies
Build and sustain effective relationships throughout the company - especially within L&D, the client, Business Operations and Human Resources
Stay abreast of leading delivery methodologies that support learning effectiveness for the modern learner in today's world. Must actively cultivate information resources to learn about innovations in delivery technology, blended and social learning, learning management systems, and delivery methods
Keeps alert to an ever-changing marketplace of choices and makes recommendations as the learning environment and choices evolve
Consistently use agreed upon processes, procedures, and templates that will result in effective learning solutions. Creates and uses instructional design plans, story boards, scripts, notes and project management schedules
Monitor end-user feedback and development efforts to facilitate continual improvement of learning experiences
Works collaboratively with other departments and subject matter experts to ensure strategic alignment, define learning objectives and accuracy of training content
Facilitates instructor led workshops, webinars, vILT and other modes of learning
Communicate any risk or issue that may hinder or impede the success of the training experience, skill development of the learners, or future business with customers
Participate in the evaluation of the effectiveness and ROI of training initiatives
Collaborate with other Consultants to balance workload in a proactive, team-oriented manner
Must be willing to travel up to 25% at absolute most at any given time
Performs related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Requires specific training in fields such as education and training, instructional design or similar vocations obtained through completion of a four-year bachelor's degree program and/or advanced degree from accredited institution
Requires a minimum of 5 years in adult education training experience or equivalent work experience direct experience in needs assessment, curriculum design, testing, evaluation, quality control, performance metrics and reporting for adult education programs. Previous experience in a Corporate or Consulting environment preferred
Experience in virtual and live facilitation, leading train-the-trainer sessions
Available to travel across United States (up to 25%)
Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology related industry experience preferred
Ability to provide a world class learning experience and to drive outcomes, must have an exceptional ability to learn and understand each business to determine the delivery strategy that will best meet their needs
Excellent presentation, organizational, verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate effectively, in English, both orally and in writing with a variety of levels of an organization; editing, proofreading, and composition skills required
Skilled at identifying requirements, key messages, key stakeholders, and developing the approach to effectively share the information within the department as well as across the organization
Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and produce high quality results with attention to detail
Strong proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications and advanced Power Point skills
Experience with virtual platforms, authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Camtasia), collaboration tools, and Learning Management Systems. Experience with mobile and digital learning a plus
Experience in photo-editing and document-design, including template development
Strong business background is essential; knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry a plus
