Job Summary

Part time job (15-20 hours per week, for the semester). Support the accounting, rates and finance activities of the organization.

Essential Duties:

    Support the maintenance of the Company's Accounting records in compliance with GAAP and Regulatory Accounting standards which could include anything from bank account reconciliations and preparation of journal entries to redesign of complicated excel models
  • Assists with other tasks or projects as assigned which can range from routine projects to solving of more complex problems
  • Assists with presentations as needed for the Executive Leadership Team
  • Should expect a tailored approach based on current needs of the business
  • Participate in closing functions with parent company under supervision of lead accountant.

Basic Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Student pursuing bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Must be currently enrolled in college and must have completed (at least) their sophomore year with a specific or relevant major
  • Intellectually curious and adaptable
  • Demonstrated strength in attention-to-detail

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe) and willingness to learn accounting systems, budgeting and cost control principles, automated financial and accounting reporting systems
  • Problem assessment and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Ability to produce and manage several projects in a quality and timely manner.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:

  • Working conditions may include approximately 10% travel to work sites of Peoples Natural Gas
