The**ADVANCED ANALYTICS GRADUATE LEVEL INTERN**will be responsible for employing advanced analytics to gain critical insights into member behavior drivers and preferences, product/program concepts and value propositions, operational effectiveness and efficiencies, client specific health gaps and needs. *Primary responsibilities include supporting:* - **ADVANCED ANALYTICS/MARKETING DATA SCIENCE:** - Employs advanced analytics to gain critical insights to improve strategic marketing, including consumer/member metrics, behaviors, drivers, and preferences; consumer/member health gaps and needs; marketing campaign effectiveness through attribution and valuation modeling; and product/program concepts and value propositions. - Engages and collaborates with marketing/business stakeholders to design end-to-end solutions that advance consumer-centricity in advanced analytics through identified population segments and development of actionable plans to drive consumer/member outcomes and business growth. - Creates/designs the development and implementation of proprietary machine learning algorithms and techniques to solve business, consumer, and marketing problems and optimize member experiences. - Communicates analytical insights and findings to drive marketing growth. - Consults with marketing partners on testing rigor, ensuring our learnings result in measurable, applicable insights. - Performs established analysis for routine diagnoses of consumers, quality, use, cost and other variables for opportunity assessments - Develops the technical definition of outcome metrics to assess outcomes and defines analysis to accomplish the measurement - Builds, tests, and validates statistical models under supervision - Contributes to research by performing basic analyses, preparing data and documenting results. *Functions OR examples of projects for this role:* - Compiling testing documentation and marketing study designs with firm hypothesis and testing methodologies - Building prototype models to identity consumers and their attributes. - Building decision scenarios connected to value - Answering broad conceptual questions like What is engagement? through the lens of advanced analytics *Preferred Experience in:* - Student should have experience in one or more of the following: - Analytical tools such as Python, R, SAS, SPSS or equivalents analytical tools; working experience with Teradata, SQL, or equivalent data base tools. - Teradata, SQL, or equivalent database tools - Programming large, multi-source datasets with SAS - Basic knowledge of common analytical methods such as profiling a customer segment, experimental design and regression analysis. - Statistical modeling in the consumer marketing context - Data modeling and addressing data quality issues and limitations - working with cross-functional project teams and managing communications including in-person or virtual meetings - Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Insurance, Financial, Consumer Product Goods *Student Characteristics:* - Ability to participate collaboratively in a team tasked to produce complex analyses on a rigorous schedule. - Strong written and verbal communications skills and the ability to present meaningful results to a multi-disciplinary audience. - Must be a critical thinker capable of producing applied insights and problem-solving - Must be a self-starter and quick learner with the desire to learn new tools and techniques - Must have structured thinking to synthesize analytic findings (both verbally and written) into actionable strategic recommendations - Ability to solves well defined analytical problems, as well as complex and ambiguous problems independently - Possess strong intellectual curiosity and motivated to master analytical skills. **QUALIFICATIONS** *Student Qualifications:* - Pursuing a graduate degree with concentration in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, econometrics economics, cognitive science, computer science, machine learning/AI, healthcare analytics, predictive analytics, or other related disciplines - This internship is from June 6th to August 12th and is 40 hours per week - Students must be authorized to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship requirements - Proficient in Microsoft Office *The health of our associates and communities is a top priority for Anthem.
