Develop and implement the foundational strategy and change management necessary for the highest level of quality, safety, and service, reducing variation in care standards. Direct and implement evidence-based programs, practices and activities that realize continuous improvements in clinical quality and patient safety.

Work collaboratively across the enterprise and externally to enhance our care quality and safety to deliver on its promise of taking care of unaccompanied children.

Build and lead a multidisciplinary quality and safety organization that ties back to Acuity clinical practice and quality standards program management.

Establish quality measurements for internal use and assure reporting of quality metrics to all required external entities, including federal, state, and private. Lead in developing, directing, and coordinating innovative, multidisciplinary quality and outcomes management initiatives across that incorporates best practices, drive down variations, decrease costs and create efficiencies. Oversee quality data analytics, understand trends, and direct the monitoring, reporting and active discussion of clinical outcomes among the areas where quality issues have been identified, patients' rights and ethical treatment, safety and security of physical environments, emergency management, teamwork, respect for others, participation in ongoing education and training, communication and adherence to safety and quality programs,

Serve as a primary interface to Acuity's Quality Counsel, P&T and Credentialing Committee.

Responsibilities

  • Lead performance and process improvement processes
  • Direct quality review and accountability
  • Review patient safety records
  • Provide regulatory and accreditation oversight.
  • Coordinate quality leadership and integration.
  • Direct health data analytics as applicable.
  • Provide a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the Medical Director.
  • Technically direct, perform, or assist in the instruction of, other health care professionals seeing patients within the scope of their clinical privileges or responsibilities.
  • Promote preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling.
  • Order diagnostic tests as applicable; request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.
  • Technically direct and teach other medical staff and provide educational lectures and participate in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. Such direction and interaction will adhere to government and professional clinical standards and accepted clinical protocols. This requirement is consistent with the personal services nature of the contract. Collaborates with Medical Director to resolve quality issues and contributes to unit effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues or problems, examining solutions & options, recommending, and implementing action plans and courses of action.
  • Assesses the needs and identifies trends for the site-specific client populations.
  • Performs medical job causation reviews upon request to assess causality of reported work-related injuries.
  • Examines patients and determines appropriate x-ray examinations and clinical laboratory tests; provides diagnosis and care based on medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests.
  • Interprets test results, evaluates examination findings, formulates patient management plans, and communicates such to the patient.
  • Determines the need for and assists in specialized medical care and treatment.
  • Supports a referral network for specialists and workers' comp panels in concordance with CHS Health Services, Inc. protocol and state board of workers' compensation rules, and refers patients to them as needed.
  • Provides accurate and timely responses to client inquiries.
  • Serves as interface with local private physicians for referral of patients and interchange of information important to patient health and safety.
  • Seeks opportunities to grow the clientele for the clinic; by pursing community outreach and public relations activities, with the support of senior management, as deemed appropriate.
  • Seeks and maintains relationships with the client, public and professional agencies to maximize resources and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Assists in active implementation of company initiatives to ensure compliance with mandated regulatory or conformance regulations/standards.
  • Performs other assigned departmental operations to maintain workflow.
  • Actively participates as part of the CHSi management team, working collaboratively with the Account Manager and Practice Administrators to achieve CHSi and Client goals.
  • Develops physician networking with both local and internal peer groups and professional organization contacts.
  • Travel required as determined by contract requirements to client sites globally.

OTHER DUTIES:

  • May lead or participate in interdepartmental project groups or task forces to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, new task efforts, contract awards, and new policy requirements.

  • Participates and supports safety meetings, training, and goals.
  • Ensures safe operating conditions within area of responsibility.
  • Identifies "close calls" and/or safety concerns to supervisory personnel. Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Assists in active implementation of company initiatives to ensure compliance with OSHA VPP, ISO, JCAHO, TJC AAAHC, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality recommendations and other mandated regulations/standards.

Job Requirements

  • Possess a Doctorate Degree in Medicine from an accredited college approved by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) , a Doctorate degree in Osteopathy from a college accredited by the American Osteopathic Association, or permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).
  • The work required 6 years of progressive leadership experience.
  • Successful completion of a residency program (corresponding to the specialty required by the task order) which has been approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association or those Canadian training programs approved by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or other appropriate Canadian medical authority: Preventive Medicine, Pediatrics, Family Practice, or Internal Medicine
  • Possess and maintain a current, valid, unrestricted license (corresponding to the specialty required by the task order) in one of the fifty states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • Proven experience in establishing strategic priorities and building the infrastructure and team to implement large-scale initiatives and behavioral change across the enterprise. Experience utilizing the approaches and methods of process improvement as evidenced by achieving desired outcomes.

Preferred Requirements

  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or other healthcare quality/compliance professional entity such as American Association for Physician Leadership (AAPL)
