Job Description

KeyLogic is Growing! We have an immediate need for an Environmental Scientist/Engineer to join our team supporting the Department of Energy's (DOE) National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). This position will support focus on research related to marginal wells, including R&D associated with methane emissions and other environmental impacts associated with upstream resources.

Position Requirements:

  • Ability to pass any required background checks and obtain any necessary security clearances required by our clients
  • Bachelor's Degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, geology, or a related discipline
  • An advanced degree (M.S.) along with fundamental understanding of oil and natural gas production and transport along with environmental impacts of the oil and natural gas value chain is preferred.
  • 5+ years of related experience supporting oil and natural gas production and transport, including environmental assessment
  • Professional experience related to managing and supporting marginal or stripper wells with both a production and environmental impact focus is highly desired
  • High degree of demonstrated intellectual and analytical skills
  • The ability to work independently, as well as in a structured team environment with federal and other technical services contractors
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks with often overlapping deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to interact with clients and colleagues on a daily basis
  • Excellent writing and research skills are essential
  • Must be result oriented and able to work on multi-assignments in a fast-paced deadline-oriented work environment

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical, analytical and coordination support for conceptualization, formulation, implementation, and management of program planning, outreach activities, cooperative programs, and projects focusing on environmentally prudent resource development, methane emissions mitigation/quantification, and environmental impact assessment and remediation.
  • Advancing NETL's energy and environmental activities that promote resource sustainability
