Job Description

This position assists the General Surgery Program Administrator as required by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and Provides clerical support to Program Director. This position also coordinates fellowship programs: Critical Care, Colorectal, Transplant, and Vascular. The employee will maintain procedure credentialing spreadsheet, and Quarterly reports.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains New Innovations for the Department of Surgery Education Programs, which includes residency and fellowships.
  • Provides clerical support to Program Director.
  • Maintaining All New Innovation Database modules, graphs, reports
  • Trains users on New Innovations for duty hours, evaluations and conference attendance.
  • Compiles data for census reports, accreditation reports and other documents
  • Compiling and distributing Weekly M amp; M reports
  • Administers CME credits for Surgery Morbidity and Mortality Conferences; Surgery Grand Rounds; and Surgical ICU Weekly Conference
  • Track vacation time for residents and fellows
  • Monthly tracking of evaluations for Program, Faculty, Fellows, and Residents
  • Monthly ldquo;Red Paperrdquo; report that tracks resident accuracy
  • Assists with preparing recruiting activities, applicant folder prep and arranging and Resident exams.
  • Sets up and proctors Fellowship exam days
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the University
  • Assist Program Administrator with NRMP (National Residency Matching Program), ERAS (Electronic Residency Application System, and screening residency applications
  • Coordinates applicant interviews, itineraries, match sessions and statistics.
  • Develops materials for disbursement to candidates and/or faculty.
  • Plans and organizes Rank Night and Fellowship events with faculty and chief residents.

Educational/Training Requirements:

High school diploma or GED Required. Bachelorrsquo;s degree preferred.

Experience Requirements:

A minimum of 5 years prior related experience, higher education experience preferred.

Additional Information:

Knowledge of information required by ACGME Annually (ADS), Annual Program Evaluation (APE), FREIDA (Fellowship and Residency Electronic Interactive Database)

Knowledge of the following computer programs: New Innovations, ADS, ACGME Milestones, ERAS (Electronic Residency Applications System), NRMP (National Residency Match Program), Microsoft Office Suite
