NDT LEVEL III - ENGINEER

THE NDT LEVEL III ENGINEER WILL . . .

  • Review and interpret NDT requirements within customer and industry specification documents. Write procedures to meet NDT requirements.
  • Lead and administer the Personnel Qualification and Certification program for qualifying NDT operators.
  • Interface with customers and other third-party auditors regarding technical questions related to NDT.
  • Support NDT operations by providing training and troubleshooting as required.
  • Review and approve certifications from outside testing sources.
  • This position will have support from our SAO/Corporate NDT Team.
  • Interprets internal/external business issues and recommends best practices in own function. Has developed depth and breadth of expertise in own function.
  • Effectively manages projects or teams, including coordination of resources outside of own area. Forecasts and plans resource requirements for projects or teams.
  • Monitors and controls costs for own work and may manage costs/budgets for large projects or areas.
  • Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.
  • Anticipates customer needs and associated risks; assesses requirements and identifies new solutions.
  • Leads others to resolve complex problems in non-standard situations and develop creative solutions.
  • Ensures a safe workplace. Promotes ways to improve the quality of life and protect the environment in the communities in which the Company does business.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED FOR THE NDT LEVEL III - ENGINEER

  • High School Diploma / GED required. Four-year college Technical Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Must be qualified and certifiable to NDT Level III in the UT Method as defined in SNT-TC-1A, NAS 410 as well as various customer specifications.
  • Thorough knowledge of NDT system management, NDT audit and corrective action processes, knowledge of root cause problem solving and knowledge of UT and ET test equipment and various suppliers.
  • Certification in other NDT methods is preferred,
  • ET Level III Certificate preferred or willingness to obtain the certification with company's support of this goal.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, well organized and the ability to prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
  • Willing to work in a fast paced, every changing work environment.
