PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for both routine and nonroutine maintenance and downtime activities. This candidate must work independently and in conjunction with fellow maintenance and/or production personnel as tasks demand.

Reports to: Maintenance Leader

Span of Control: Plant

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Live the Safety stand, adhere to the safety responsibilities.
  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment while building a culture where safety is always the first priority.
  • Advance plant's safety culture through improving equipment reliability and eliminate upset conditions.
  • Interact and coordinate with plant operations to design and implement safety improvement projects
  • Participate in the safety and good housekeeping programs as established within the plant.

  1. Principle Duties:
  • Perform both routine and nonroutine maintenance tasks on process and support equipment.
  • Fabricate items from sketches or verbal descriptions.
  • Communicate (written and verbal) work activities, equipment problems and solutions to broader maintenance team, shift coordinators and members of the management team.
  • Participate in project teams as needed.
  • Complete Daily work records and activity reports within SAP.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in industrial maintenance
  • Associates degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance or related area
  • Must be eligible to work in the US on an unlimited basis

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong mechanical skills which include pneumatic, hydraulic, rotating equipment and motor/drive train.
  • Strong electrical skills which include 480V, control voltage, PLC troubleshooting and sensor installation.
  • Experience with safety systems such as gate lock, relay or guarding.
  • Ability to read all types of blueprints and schematics.
  • Proficient with electrical trouble shooting meters.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite software and ability to learn additional systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in teams and be a team builder.
