Maintenance Apprentice

Triumvirate Environmental (BestPlus), one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking an (onsite) Maintenance Apprentice for our Jeannette, PA team. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager. The starting rate is $20 per hour and the schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. This highly motivated individual will be responsible for assisting maintenance technicians in performing their day-to-day tasks.

Our BestPLUS recycled plastic lumber business is part of a larger strategy to help customers become greener and more sustainable. We've developed a proprietary process that converts a variety of waste materials into multiple grades and profiles of plastic lumber for many applications and markets. Our products and solutions have been well-received by the market. We are looking for a high energy sales pro to help us reach more customers and geographies.

Essential responsibilities:

  • Assists in the installation and maintenance of electrical, pneumatic mechanical systems on present and new equipment.
  • Performs general duties that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include filter cleaning, and daily inspections.
  • Perform general PM duties such as greasing of the equipment.
  • Assist maintenance technician with acquiring parts and tools.
  • Loads and unloads materials from trucks.
  • Complete administrative duties, such as filling out forms and reporting maintenance statuses Maintenance Lead.
  • Cleans and assists with the upkeep of the facility.
  • Cleans and stores tools and equipment.
  • Internal and external training requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Work overtime as needed.

Basic Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proven general maintenance experience.
  • Previous forklift experience preferred.
  • The ability to safely operate hand and power tools as well as cleaning equipment.
  • The ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Pre-employment drug screen, background check, and aptitude test
