GAI Consultants (GAI) is looking for a Geological Manager/Subject Matter Expert. This position is responsible for serving as a Project Advisor to the Power Generation Business Sector. This successful candidate will have the ability to work from any GAI office location, a hybrid schedule or remote.

Project Management/SME Responsibilities:

  • Job duties are dedicated to subject matter expert/project advisor for abandoned mine lands reclamation.
  • Gives input to GAI's project manager and technical team members on investigation and design.
  • Projects supported are anticipated to be abandoned mine lands reclamation.
  • Has an in-depth understanding of project goals, drivers, strategies, risks, and opportunities.
  • Understands the company's businesses, competing projects, and profit impact of decisions.
  • Provides multi-discipline engineering teams with strong technical engineering guidance. Possesses and applies advanced knowledge and technical skills to solve complex engineering problems, or to plan and coordinate larger scale engineering projects or varied assignments requiring diverse knowledge of engineering principles and practices. Provides expert technical consultations and assessments on engineering problems and projects. May perform independent research to find innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions to reclamation.

Business Development Responsibilities:

  • Serves as primary client contact for projects managed.
  • Actively wins new work from both new and existing clients by building and maintaining customer relationships, monitoring future work opportunities, communicating regularly, and attending client events.
  • Acts as senior company representative to the client, in the community and with contractors.
  • Coordinates and develops proposed scope, schedule, and fee for the entire project.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Interact and provide technical guidance for project teams covering several disciplines with staff from more than one office and working in several locations.

Bachelors of Geological Science (preferred)
