Job Description

The Architectural Coatings US & CanadaHyperion Essbase Administratorwill be a member of the SBU's Financial Planning and Analysis group. You will be tasked with the administration, maintenance and continual improvement of the Hyperion Essbase and Hyperion Planning applications.You will work with other departments, including Information Technology, to review business and system requirements or systems design, plans for build, test and post-implementation to ensure successful implementation and execution for the Finance Teams.You will support ad-hoc financial analysis and budgeting processes within the outlined applications. You will report to the Senior Finance Reporting Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer Hyperion Essbase and Hyperion Planning applications within Architectural Coatings US & Canada.
  • Collaborate with the data warehouse team, utilizing SQL for Relational Tables and Views integration into Oracle DRM and Essbase Cubes.
  • Support month-end closing processes, including data loads, aggregations, calculations, and reconciliations through FDMEE.
  • Utilize Data Relationship Management (DRM) for maintaining Master Data and Reference data, focusing on data analytics, modeling, views creation, validation, queries, and batch process automation.
  • Assist in the annual budget process in Hyperion Planning and maintain hierarchies/outlines and properties in DRM for Planning and Essbase ASO/BSO applications.
  • Adapt and optimize applications for changes in business structure and strategy.
  • Perform artifact migration between different environments using Hyperion LCM.
  • Validate and reconcile systems during implementations and upgrades, occasionally requiring weekend and off-hours work.
  • Lead initiatives to identify and implement additional analytical tools to guide business profitability.
  • Responsible for periodic upgrades to Hyperion applications to improve functionality and compatibility.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy within Financial Planning applications. Develop and implement the necessary operational controls.
  • Ensure accurate generation of all reporting, ensuring consistency and standardization amongst the types of reports and databases.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Planning and Incentives to identify initiatives that add value to recurring reporting needs and processes.
  • Train users in all aspects of new software.
  • Develop Block Storage Cubes (B.S.O) Aggregated Storage (A.S.O) cubes.
  • Developed Calc Scripts, Report Scripts, Business Rule, Build Rules and Load Rules.
  • Developed batch files using MaxL and ESSCMDs and rule files to upload data from system's database to Essbase cube.
  • Worked with Hyperion security and Planning in developing web-based forms for the budgeting and forecasting purpose.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a business related field and 5+ years of related experience in Hyperion Essbase Administrationor Financial Consolidations is required.
  • Develop and maintain Hyperion Essbase applications, data load rules, dimension build rules, calculation scripts, report scripts
  • Create, maintain, and optimize Essbase outlines - manually and through MaxL scripts
  • Ability to interface with users to quickly correct problems and develop solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Smart View), relational databases (Oracle), general ledger systems (predominantly SAP), Financial Reporting Studio
  • Weekend and off-hours work sometimes required, particularly around month-end closing.
