Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive leadership development strategy (including project plans, timelines, executive summaries, etc.) aligned with organizational goals and business objectives.

  • Collaborate with HR to provide coaching and support to enhance leadership capabilities, including feedback to leadership on sales representative performance.

  • Present learning and development strategies to senior business leaders with a clear understanding of cost structure, creation and execution process, and estimated delivery timing.

  • Assess, design, develop, implement, and evaluate leadership development and training programs while considering available resources and budget.

  • Apply instructional design methodology, adult learning principles, and project management expertise when planning, developing, and facilitating initial and continuous learning curricula.

  • Utilize different training modalities to facilitate and deliver in-person training or virtually training via remote technology (Zoom, Teams, etc.)

  • Conduct regular needs assessments (gap analysis, focus groups, surveys, etc.) to develop new programs and to continuously improve existing training programs, resources, and frameworks.

  • Evaluate training effectiveness and readiness through metrics, feedback mechanisms, and data analysis for all training and leadership development programs and initiatives.

  • Proactively identify training gaps and opportunities, develop new solutions to advance programs and skills, and work independently to gain stakeholder feedback and alignment.

  • Stay current on industry trends to inform new program delivery and design through technology, innovation, and cutting-edge approaches.

  • Cultivate strong working relationships and collaborate closely with stakeholders at all levels in the organization, including sales leadership, compliance, legal, marketing, and operations teams.

  • Maintain and utilize a strong understanding of Viatris products, selling frameworks, and competency models when developing training strategies and programs for established and new products in accordance with Viatris policies, guidelines, and the MLR review process.

  • Collaborate with HR to provide coaching and support to enhance leadership capabilities, including feedback to leadership on sales representative performance.

  • Independently manage vendor or third-party relationships in the development of L&D programs and skill curriculum, including budget oversight.

  • Manage the leadership development budget line items (including reconciliation, and accruals), vendor onboarding, and the contracting process after gaining approval from the Senior Director, NA Sales Training.

  • Become trained and certified to facilitate and deliver soft/ human skills trainings that may include, but not limited to Situational Leadership. Resilience, Crucial Conversations, Insights, Clifton Strength Finders and Emotional Intelligence.

  • Perform other duties as directed by the Senior Director, NA Sales Training.

The minimum qualifications for this role are:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree (or equivalent). A minimum of 4 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/ biotech industry. Minimum of 2 years of sales leadership experience strongly preferred. Previous pharmaceutical sales & first line sales leadership experience is strongly preferred. Previous corporate training or leadership development experience required.

  • Advanced working knowledge of adult learning principles and the ADDIE model required.

  • Knowledge of blended learning methods, including learning management system (LMS), digital. engagement platforms and distance learning.

  • Understanding of competency models and benchmarking assessments.

  • Knowledge of field training program structure and management.

  • Familiarity with account management and contracting principles.

  • Familiarity with multiple sales model approaches and selling frameworks.

  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills required.

  • Polished platform skills, excellent written communication, and experience as group facilitator.

  • Ability to apply metrics and track key performance indicators to facilitate evidence-based learning strategies.

  • Ability to work independently or in collaboration with wide variety of strategic partners and internal stakeholders.

  • Ability to be agile with managing multiple complex projects in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.

  • Broad range of strategic thinking and tactical skills required.

  • Strong project management skills required.

  • Certifications in Soft Skills programs preferred.

  • Coaching certifications or curriculum design preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret complex business and/or technical documents. Ability to write comprehensive reports and detailed business correspondence. Ability to work with managers or directors and communicate ambiguous concepts. Ability to present to groups across the organization.

  • Ability to solve problems with a variety of concrete variables through semi-standardized solutions that require some ingenuity and analysis. Ability to draw inferences and follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve moderately complex problems.

  • This role has flexibility for remote work.

  • Travel will be required (up to 40%) for all live training events held at the home office in Canonsburg, PA and off-site locations (POA meetings, conferences, business meetings), which could be 10+ week-long sessions per year. This travel would include required field visits, business meetings, and training conferences.
