Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Conduct monthly review of forecast data and reports. Review and make recommendations on individual product forecasts as needed. Meet with the Director to provide an overview of forecasts and forecast reports. Ensure changes recommended by the Director are incorporated into the strategic plan. Ensure forecast files are submitted to FP&A in a timely manner. Attend monthly forecast meetings with FP&A to represent interests of the department. Present relevant high-level summary data and reports impacting monthly forecasts, strategic plans and forecast trends.

  • Intellectual Property Attorney and Litigator Attorney consultation. Review databases related to type and duration of patents related to product being forecasted. Discuss with IP Attorney potential P3, P4 and viii patent filing strategies. Discuss with Litigation Attorney likely litigation outcomes. Decide upon most likely outcome of legal environment and ensure product forecast reflects most likely scenario.

  • Participate in the strategic plan process for branded new product portfolio which consummates with the delivery of the final presentation and supplemental reports. Meet with IP Attorney, Litigation Attorneys, R&D representatives, and Launch Management. Participate in discussions reviewing each product and collecting updates from each group. Through consensus, make updates regarding changes to forecasts based on new data revealed by participants.

  • Initial review of NA Global Healthcare Gateway evaluation process. Initiate the review and the assessment of each new opportunity that Business Development provides to the GHG process.Participate in discussions with cross functional leaders in Commercial, Medical Affairs, Legal, Clinical and R&D to assess the unmet need of each opportunity. Ensure a thorough review of competing products within the disease state to properly assess market potential.Begin the process of assembling the NA business case for each opportunity.Ensure assumptions are communicated and aligned with Director and Departmental Leadership.Engage in the process in ensuring alignment with NA Commercial Leadership on final business case to support Global GHG process.Ensure all opportunity milestones are achieved and communicated to cross functional team throughout the process.

  • Ensure we are submitting new branded product proposals to Global PRB. Update databases (MyPortfolio, etc) in a timely and accurate manner. Review database reports to ensure accuracy after data is entered and before data is pulled by Global PRB for PRB meetings. Assist in preparing the departmental leadership to represent NA Portfolio during PRB by summarizing & preparing key data points in product proposals.

  • Participate in the NA Novel PRB Process. Conduct the review, filtering and assessment of new R&D branded development ideas with cross functional representation from Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, R&D, Legal and Commercial Teams to find innovative ideas for NA New Branded Product Launches. The culmination of this process will produce a targeted list of development concepts to be reviewed and approved by NA Senior Leadership to drive value across the region. Assemble initial business case and presentations for review during the review and approval meeting with NA Senior Leadership. After these ideas are approved, this role will monitor the progress of the programs in conjunction with our technical and legal colleagues and our individual commercial partners (BU leadership, Marketing and Managed Markets teams) to bring the idea to commercialization during its pre-launch life cycle.

  • Perform departmental requests for Ad Hoc analysis and reports.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The minimum qualifications for this role are:

  • 3-5 years of Commercial, Portfolio, Marketing and/or Finance experience in a Pharmaceutical setting. Minimum of a Bachelors Degree, a Masters Degree is a plus.

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical market landscape, Viatris's product portfolio, lifecycle of generic pharmaceutical products, Viatris's customer base and understanding of the potential impact of business events is preferred.

  • Required: Analytical ability. Proficient use of Microsoft Excel and Access at a high level of competence is required. Ability to learn, solve complex problems, understand and utilize standard accounting and financial concepts. Ability to learn and understand brand and generic product lifecycle management. Must be organized and detail oriented.

  • Position functions semi-autonomously under the direction of the department Head.

  • Ability to read and interpret complex business and/or technical documents. Ability to write comprehensive reports and detailed business correspondence. Ability to work with groups of people such as other departments and communicate known concepts. Ability to present to a group of departments.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to work with statistical concepts and calculations.

  • Ability to solve problems with a variety of concrete variables through semi-standardized solutions that require some ingenuity and analysis. Ability to draw inferences and follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve moderately complex problems.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. The salary range for this position is $66,000 - $127,000.
