About the Position:


We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at Carnegie Mellon to work on cutting-edge research in machine learning, focusing on developing robust foundation models and LLMs. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a recent Ph.D. graduate to contribute to a high-impact research project that aims to advance the understanding and development of models that are secure to adversarial manipulation.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct original research in machine learning, focusing on topics such as model robustness, AI security, and related areas.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and faculty members to design, implement, and evaluate novel machine learning algorithms and techniques.
  • Develop and maintain software tools, libraries, and datasets to support research activities.
  • Publish research findings in top-tier conferences and journals, and present work at academic and industry events.
  • Actively engage in the scientific community by participating in peer-review processes and collaborating with researchers from other institutions.
  • Mentor and support graduate students, and contribute to the teaching and supervision of students as required.
  • Contribute to research grant applications, project reports, and related administrative tasks.
Qualifications
  • A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
  • Strong research background and publication record in machine learning.
  • Proficiency in machine learning frameworks and libraries, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement novel ideas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • A strong commitment to collaborative research and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
