Your Opportunity + Impact

The Proposal Coordinator is responsible for assisting seller/doers, business developers, and other proposal coordinators with positioning the company to win planning, design-bid-build, and design-build work; producing high-quality proposals that feature written narratives and supporting graphics for the planning, architecture, engineering, and construction services profession; engaging in strategic and tactical discussions and activities to help LDG win clients, programs, and projects; supporting the business development (BD), sales, and marketing activities that are inherent in the pursuit of markets, clients, programs, and projects; establishing and maintaining relationships with internal teaming partners and clients and other client-facing technical staff and assisting them in their seller/doer roles; working with their materials to package proposals and prepare presentations; engaging in the entire spectrum of BD and sales activities, trade show coordination including pre- and post-event activities follow-up mailers and email blasts, etc.; collateral materials; market research; go/no go processes; capture planning; qualifications packages; proposals; scope and fee quotes; and interview presentation preparations including rehearsals; and providing other type of administrative support to the marketing, sales, and business development processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of seller/doers, business developers, and other proposal coordinators, is capable of producing high-quality proposals and presentation materials, conducting kickoff meetings, managing the proposal production process, interfacing as necessary, and executing the production of proposals and presentations. Takes charge of packages for physical or electronic submission, including all writing, graphic design, and production. Performs whatever tasks are necessary to execute proposals or presentations once direction is received. Serves as the go-to person for creating winning proposals and presentations.
  • Engages in periodic general business development and target-specific meetings and activities, assists with market research, capture planning, sales funnel management, Deltek Vision (or equal) maintenance, client relationship management (CRM) database, and other duties as may be necessary to support business development and sales efforts.
  • Develops and maintains materials necessary for the production of proposals, such as project sheets, resumes, boilerplate narratives, information graphics, etc.
  • Develops and maintains collateral materials for qualifications packages, promotional materials, brochures, etc. These may be as simple as one-page summaries or as complex as multi-disciplined integrated booklets. Tailors and provides LDG materials to teaming partners.
  • Provides general support to proposal efforts and internal clients, including the production of periodic reports, electronic files maintenance, ad-hoc committees, and special assignments, etc.
  • Provides the entire spectrum of support necessary for staff to attend trade shows and other types of events, including pre-event notifications and collateral materials, follow-up activities, etc.
Education and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's in Communications, Marketing, Business or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years' experience. Preferred in the A/E/C industry

Preferred Qualifications

  • Has a hands-on, working knowledge of the profession, including planning, architecture, interior design, multi-disciplined engineering, design-build, construction services, transportation, geospatial information services, and other services prevalent in the profession. Understands technical terminology.
  • Strong proposal management/project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must have a passion for persuasive professional writing and the integration of intelligent graphics to tell a story and win projects.
  • Is capable of reading a signed contract and scope of services and then distilling the information to generate project sheets and write technical narratives for job descriptions.
  • Is assertive in dealing with technical staff, capable of interviewing them, making notes, and the producing first-draft documents of project information, resume content, project understandings and approaches, etc.
  • Has "fire in the belly" and a "whatever-it-takes" attitude to stay focused, keep the capture team on strategy, and drive to win. Pushes technical staff to excellence in the chase. Understands the time sacrifices and personal commitment that are necessary for the job. Is cool under the pressure of tight deadlines.
  • Has an innate sense or feel for what is working and what is not working, in a pursuit, and advises accordingly.
  • Has a natural curiosity and interest in the built environment, design, and construction projects of all kinds.
