DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Budget Analyst 2, you will meet with program offices to provide information, statistics, regular fiscal interpretation, and accomplishments as well as perform budgetary and financial functions related to the preparation of the annual budget, rebudgets, and reports for DHS. You will analyze agency budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls, accumulate information from our financial system, and develop and present a variety of budget and funding system status reports.

Within this role you will also review and approve contract modifications and adjustment requests submitted by the program office, verify that the contract modifications and amendments or re-budgets have been correctly entered by the Controller's Office, and ensure accuracy of payments. This position affords the opportunity to prepare projections of assigned grants, assist with preparations of the county grant budget for annual submission, and serve as a liaison with different bureaus in our department. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Budget Analyst I; or
  • Two years of experience in technical budget administration work, and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
