PITT OHIO, a $900 million, high service, highly profitable, transportation solutions provider offering SUPPLY CHAIN, GROUND, LTL and TRUCKLOAD services is seeking a Costing Analyst to join our team at our Corporate Headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

* Evaluate freight density and volume for proper cost allocation.
* Assist in monthly and annual cost model maintenance via data collection, direct as well as iterative analysis, and reconciliation.
* Perform analysis surrounding freight characteristics/cost drivers and identify areas of improvement for the costing model.
* Liaise with Pitt Ohio operating terminal personnel regarding account level, terminal level, and company level expenses and cost-drivers that would impact the costing model.
* Develop and streamline data collection processes to support closing and reporting responsibilities.
* Conduct profitability analysis on an account, business segment, operating terminal, and regional bases.
* React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.
* Support development and maintenance of cost profiles and databases.
* Provide occasional end-user support of cost model.
* Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting.

* Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, or other quantitative discipline. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
* Medium-to-high level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required (vlookups, pivot tables, subtotals, etc.), and/or strong desire/initiative to rapidly increase working knowledge of Excel application toward expertise level with minimal direction.
* High proficiency with SQL Server is a plus, but not required.
* Outstanding problem solving and analytical ability.
* Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent math skills
* High attention to detail
* At least 1 year of related work experience

Preferred qualifications:
* Ability to compile and analyze data and draw conclusions.
* Cost accounting and/or data analysis experience
* LTL trucking experience and/or knowledge of LTL freight classes and characteristics
* Intellectual curiosity
* Enjoys "playing in data".
* Ability and desire to transform ambiguity into actional information.
* Process orientation that respectfully looks for increased efficiency in repetitive tasks.
