SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for coordinating the work of assigned technical committees by acting as the SAE representative at appropriate committee meetings; facilitating committee work before, during and after meetings; planning meeting facilities; working directly with suppliers; ensuring adherence to legal requirements, policies and procedures; conducting on-site registration; and ensuring the proactive production of technical standards that are relevant to the industry and which meet the goals of SAE.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working closely with technical committee leadership to advance the committees' objectives, using industry knowledge, metrics and data to assess committee health and drive improvements
  • Collaborating with committee members and colleagues, facilitating the development, balloting and publication of consensus standards that industry and government rely upon
  • Organizing and representing SAE in virtual and in-person committee meetings in a variety of locations
  • Acting as focal point for enquires and communications, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures
  • Collaborating with colleagues to promote the work of SAE technical committees in key venues

EDUCATION, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field with 5 years experience in customer-facing, group facilitation or association arena, required.
  • Experience working in or with the aerospace or related industry, desired.
  • Experience in coordinating and executing organizational process and procedure, required
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, required
  • Strong presentation and meeting facilitation skills, required
  • Excellent organizational, planning and negotiation skills, required
  • Ability to effectively utilize computer programs and web applications, required
  • Excellent people management and motivational skills, required
  • Ability to work with a variety of individuals and coordinate their needs while maintaining the rules and integrity of the organization
  • Ability to travel 35% of the time
