Job Description

As Global Category Manager Team Lead - Resins, you will lead a high performing team of Category Managers along with individually managing the sourcing strategy for a Global Resin category. As a key member of the Global Procurement team, your negotiation skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams and matrix organizations are the keys to the success in this position. Annual purchases managed by this position typically range from $130MM to $500MM depending on the portfolio. You will report to the RM Procurement Director, Americas at the Pittsburgh, PA office.


Responsibilities:


* Lead a team (4-6 people) of America Region Category Managers providing 1:1 feedback and coaching to strengthen capabilities within the PPG Procurement Organization.
* Develop a global sourcing strategy for your category that aligns with business needs, mitigates identified risks, and maximize value opportunities for PPG globally.
* Drive engagement and alignment on your sourcing strategy through collaboration with Procurement, Business, and Technical leadership.
* Negotiate with suppliers at both global and regional level to secure raw materials needed with advantageous terms for PPG.
* Establish accurate forecasted raw material market movements and effectively communicate movements with global internal stakeholders.
* Establish and manage relationships with key suppliers and business stakeholders.
* Align and collaborate with regional category managers to deliver savings and working capital targets to bring value to PPG's bottom line.

Requirements:


* Bachelor's degree in chemistry/chemical engineering
* 10+ years in chemical industry - previous resin experience preferred.
* Experience managing teams of 5+ people.
* Strategic vision
* Data analysis and critical thinking skills
* Change Management
