Job Description

Do you have a desire to help the world's best Navy The Materials Evaluation Laboratory (MEL) in the Radiological Infrastructure and Operations (RIO) Subdivision is seeking a technician to support the Decontamination and Decommissioning (D&D) operations being performed at the Bettis Site. The successful candidate will work with other technicians and groups within the directorate to support work within the MEL as well as current and future D&D projects. Specifically, the candidate will perform radiological work provided by ERW's (Engineer of Radiological Work) under the supervision of a PCS (Production Contamination Supervisor). Specific training, including Contamination Worker, Drape/Catch, Glovebag/Glovebox, and other qualifications will be provided to qualified individuals. Candidate will also be expected to participate as an active member on the Radiological Emergency Response Organization (RERO) team.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill
High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field; or Journeyman's papers in a related field.

  • Telemanipulator Operator Experience
  • Qualified Contamination Worker, Drape/Catch, Glovebag/Glovebox Experience
  • Rigger Experience
  • Experience in Heavy Industry and/or Construction Work is a plus

Pay Range
$50,800.00 - $76,200.00 annually
