At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated Project Manager to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
The successful candidate will work closely with the Program Manager to oversee and manage various aspects of our aircraft development programs. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of aircraft development processes.
The Project Manager will:
-Assist the Program Manager in planning, organizing, and executing aircraft development programs, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and testing, to ensure seamless coordination and integration of program activities.
-Monitor program progress, identify potential risks and issues, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful program delivery.
-Support the Program Manager in developing and maintaining program schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
-Coordinate and facilitate program meetings, including preparing agendas, documenting meeting minutes, and tracking action items to closure.
-Assist in the preparation of program status reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
-Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, promoting effective communication and knowledge sharing among team members.
-Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to aircraft development programs, and apply this knowledge to enhance program performance.
-Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. bachelor's in engineering, aerospace, or a related field.) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).
-Experience in aircraft development programs, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects.
-Strong knowledge of aircraft development processes, including design, manufacturing, testing, and certification.
-Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
-Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
-Proficiency in project management tools and software.
-Must be a US Person
-Master's degree preferred.
-PMP certification is a plus
