SUMMARY

The Equipment Specialist is responsible for materials and equipment management including procurement, shipment and distribution of products, materials and services required by the education, conferences and publications departments. This position requires that the employee be able to work with a high degree of autonomy as well as identify and take on additional projects around the Distribution Center. This position will also help out with the onsite spray and paint booth lab, by stocking materials or performing basic maintenance on the equipment, as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Pack and unpack all materials for education courses based on the packing lists received for each course, using the warehouse management system.
  • Assist in the ongoing training of other staff members on Distribution Center processes and software, as needed.
  • Assist in the scheduling of work load in the Distribution Center and prioritizing work based on course schedules.
  • Assist in the coordination of shipping schedules for conference materials.
  • Assist in the scheduling and tracking of Education course shipments for delivery and return in support of the organziation courses domestically and internationally.
  • Add and remove equipment into the onsite training rooms, based on weekly class schedules.
  • Verify and update electronic course records and shipping information for reporting and documentation purposes.
  • Conduct proper warehousing, (inventories, issues, and receipts) of Distribution Center inventory utilizing the warehouse management system, including but not limited to yearly inventory counts.
  • Serve as a lead and single point of resolution for any problems with shipping in order to allow courses to reach their destination by the desired arrival date.
  • Maintain and build relationships with vendors along with suppliers/companies who donate products and services for education usage.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate quality documentation along with tracking quality metrics and issues in the Distribtuion Center.
  • Help maintain the onsite spray and paint labs with any materials needed or maintenance.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand up to 7 hours a day while packing courses
  • Ability to lift and move equipment and boxes around the warehouse
  • Computer knowledge: MS Word, Excel, etc.
  • Self-starter, work independantly
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to pick up new software quickly
  • Troubleshooting abilities

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Minimal travel is expected for this position.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Experience in Logistics, Purchasing, and/or Inventory Management within a service oriented environment utilizing a Warehouse Management System, preferred.
  • Valid local driver's license
