Cleveland Brothers, the largest Cat dealer in Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia, and western Maryland, has an immediate opportunity for a Technical Training Instructor.

Position Summary:

The Technical Training Instructor is responsible for training our employees on the technical aspect of the products we sell and service, to include the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of engines, hydraulic systems, electronics, emissions systems and many others.

Primary Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering technical training in a combination of methods, including classroom instruction, hands on learning, and assisting with online learning. This technical training will be delivered to Cleveland Brothers employees at multiple different locations throughout our territory and occasionally delivered to Cleveland Brothers customers.

Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications

To be successful in this position, the candidate must:

  • Be familiar with Caterpillar construction equipment and Caterpillar systems and have the ability to explain these concepts and systems to others.
  • Possess a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Develop and organize training materials.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and consult with department managers to determine training needs.
  • Have solid working skills with computer applications and systems, and the ability to quickly learn unfamiliar systems and software.
  • Create training materials and develop hands-on lab activities as required.
  • Work independently.
  • Be willing to attend the CIAP (Caterpillar Instructor Accreditation Program) class and complete the coursework to be accredited.
  • Be willing to travel (by car) throughout our territory, averaging 25% of the time, with potential for up to 50% travel depending on workload.
  • Preferably have 5-10 years of relevant work experience.
