The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a Technologist to join the team! Key candidate must be able to team efficiently, work independently with limited direction, and minimal management oversight. Additionally, the candidate must be able to interact with technical and operations personnel to address regulated waste management needs across the site. The primary function of this position is to create work packages to assist Nuclear Test Operations (NTO) employees in the generation, handling, and establishment of temporary waste storage areas. Characterize the waste being generated by NTO and ensure the proper management of the waste storage areas within NTO.
Primary Functions:
Preferred candidate will be knowledgeable in characterization, generation, and storage of of waste.
Currently maintain qualifications to characterize waste in accordance with federal (RCRA and TSCA), state (DEP) and local (county, and NNPP) regulations.
Personnel must qualify or be qualified as a waste chemical representative, radiological waste representative, contamination worker, waste storage area manager/operator, and waste generator transporter.
