Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or Science or Engineering or Mathematics
- Minimum 5 years' experience in implementing FPGA firmware including custom VHDL components containing state machines, synchronous/asynchronous logic, processes, and external interfaces
- Minimum 5 years' experience working across cross-clock boundaries
- Minimum 5 years' experience in reviewing schematics, parts lists, and re-work documentation
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Master's Degree
- Agile experience.
- Understanding of the underlying FPGA fabric the firmware utilizes
- Familiarity with Xilinx (AMD) and Altera (Intel) compiler, programming, and debug tools
- Methodical problem-solving skills
- Motivation to independently research and resolve issues
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with floor planning and timing optimizations
- Working knowledge of standard network protocols (e.g., IPv4, UDP, TCP/IP)
- Implementing custom digital signal processing filters
