Financial Administrator



The Financial Administrator will provide post-award professional-level financial and administrative support for the Department of Surgery. This position requires the appropriate application of a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in the fields of research accounting and post-award administration financial analysis. Monthly duties will include reconciliation of contract and grant and departmental accounts, running reports, expense and revenue recordings, expense approval, and maintaining accurate data, as well as ensuring that department spreadsheets are up to date.


Job Summary

Performs post-award accounting duties for moderately complex grants and contracts. Monitors account activity, performs internal audits, resolves routine issues, and provides policy and procedure interpretation. Prepares routine financial reports and government reports. Recommends operational improvements.


Essential Functions

Must perform complex analytical skills and techniques and have computer skills; in particular, use of various financial databases. Excellent oral communications in order to explain financial terms.
