Job Description


The Pittsburgh Heart, Lung, and Blood Vascular Medicine Institute (VMI) and Division of Cardiology in the Department of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh seek outstanding junior scientists and physician-scientists for a Research Assistant Professor position. The faculty member should have a doctoral degree (MD, PhD, DO, etc.). The candidate has a high potential to be recognized by reputation in their field of study. 100% research in cardiopulmonary or cardiovascular disease space. Research Assistant Professor will be responsible for maintaining a research program, meeting with lab personnel, and grant reporting.

Candidates at the Research Assistant Professor level should have excellent communication skills, dedication to high-impact research, and the potential for a research career in academic medicine. Candidates must have MD and/or MD, Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field at the Research Assistant Professor level and should have at least 3-5 years of postdoctoral experience in clinical and translational research.
