DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Licensed Professional Geologist in Pennsylvania, you will have the opportunity to work in the field of hydrogeology within the Water Supply Management Program. Your responsibilities will include various hydrogeologic tasks in the Southwest Region, as well as involvement in the Surface Water Identification Program (SWIP) and reviewing permit applications for public water supply systems' siting, design, construction, and protection.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh.
  • Travel required for site visits
  • Salary: Most selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $66,348 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Special Requirement:

  • All positions require possession of an active license as a professional geologist issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
  • All positions require possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.

Other Requirements:
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
